Christian Poem on Growth
Poetry

Bursting Out

I did not want to grow
To have my old self die
My shell crack and break wide open

I did not want to grow
To push against the soil
Feeling alone in the darkness

I did not want to grow
To break through the rough dirt
To expand and to stretch and change

But if I had not grown
I would not have known life
And would have never seen the sun
