Dear Lord and Heavenly Father,
your doughnut walls are great.
If that’s how you do things in Heaven, I’ll take a bit more, please.
In fact, I can forgive every poor ratio of Jam to doughnut, because it led us here: to this wunderkind dozen, hanging from polished pegs.
I’ll forgive the ring doughnuts, too, because they’re a vessel for better things.
But, don’t let me admire them too much.
Doughnuts were made to be eaten, after all.
Lord, you are the baker. The glazier and gourmet pastry chef.
You get the credit and the thanks for every doughnut wall.
