The Light Shines Through

The Light Shines Through The Cracks

Cracked and broken
held together from within
by something so powerful, yet self compressed,
creates gravity; an irresistible force
that keeps the pieces in place.

Afflicted and broken
but rising powerfully with you,
never crushed; surface wounds that let the light escape.
The patterns of the light, a story in rays,
a testament to redemption and love.

Perplexed and broken
but trusting in the story,
never despairing; the jagged edges smoothed with hope.
You are making a masterpiece
that one day will be complete.

Persecuted and broken
but eyes look towards the sky,
never forsaken, but refined with fire and work.
I am your witness.
A testament in my being.

Struck down and broken,
down but never out,
never destroyed; what is eternal can never fully break.
I stand tall and whole
a jar of clay, broken, yet complete.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:7-9
